India's Nihal Sarin is one of the youngest Grandmasters in chess history. The 14-year-old is the U14 No. 1 ranked player in the world as of November 2018. Nihal was the 2014 World U10 Champion. In 2015, he settled for silver at the Ul 2 championship in Porto Carras, Greece, after a tie-break. Nihal won the U10 gold in the World Blitz Championship in AI-Ain in 2013, and was the Rapid and Blitz gold medalist in the Asian Youth Championship in Tashkent in 2014 in the same category. At the World Youth Chess Championship in December 2017, Nihal played for India Green, helping the country to a silver medal. He also won an individual gold.
